Irene Troxel

GEORGETOWN - Irene U. Troxel, 91, of Georgetown passed away at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday November 15, 2006 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. She was born on May 4, 1915 in Jamaica, IL, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Street) Hillery. She married Alba C. Red Troxel on June 14, 1933 in Loda, IL. He preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Jack (Carol) Troxel of Bulkhead, GA, Joyce (Eugene) Chambers of Cayuga, IN, and Dennis (Bonnie) Troxel of Georgetown, IL, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Elsie and Helen, and three brothers, Raymond, Ernie, and Donald. Irene enjoyed fishing, especially the many trips to Florida with her husband Red. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved dog Buffy. She was devoted for many years to the Church of the Nazarene in Ridge Farm and taught Sunday school classes.
