Danville - Irene Adrianne Kerscher Beninati, 94, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2014 in Salem Oregon. Irene was born on January 13, 1920 to Alidor and Matilda Kerscher in Detroit Michigan. Irene married her sweetheart William Frances Beninati on November 26, 1938 in Detroit, MI. William precedes her in death, William passed on May 14, 1991. Irene is survived by John (Libby) Beninati of Danville and Richard (Cathy) Beninati of Salem Oregon; eight grandchildren Robert Langdon, Jennifer (Andrew) Cole, Darren (Shelia) Beninati, Jessica Beninati, Michael (Stephanie) Beninati, and Angela (Matthew) Ledford; four great grandchildren Reagan, Fallion, Mara, and Eve; and her siblings Linda (Ralph) Loveday and Arthur Kerscher. She is preceded in death by her parents Alidor and Matilda, her husband William, and daughter Sara Langdon, November 21, 2003. Irene moved to Danville in 1955 where she worked at Traverse Boat Company and Wind Breaker Clothing until her retirement in 1978. Irene lived in Florida from 1978 until 2005, when she moved to Salem Oregon until her passing. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 17, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum. Father Greg Nelson from St. Pauls Catholic Church will officiate.
