WESTVILLE - Ira Leroy Acord, 78, of Westville, IL, passed away at 10:00pm, Monday, December 24th, 2007, at Provena USMC in Danville. Leroy was born on July 28th, 1929, in Georgetown, IL, the son of Ira Patrick and Lena (Downs) Acord. On November 27th, 1947, he married Mary Louise Edwards in Georgetown. Leroy is survived by: his wife, Mary, of 60 years; his sons, Leland Acord of Covington, IN, and Terry (Mary Ann) Acord of Danville, IL; his grandchildren, Tracy (Juanita) Acord of Covington, IN, Jerry (Debbie) Acord of Ft. Wayne, IN, Mark (Jodi) Acord of Oklahoma, Daniel Patrick (Brenda) Acord of Covington, IN, Christopher Miller of Peoria, IL, and Joanna Miller of Danville, IL; his great grandchildren, Tony, Brian, Dixie, Emilie, Chad, Travis, & Herbie; his brother-in-law, Frank (Robbie) Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, & five sisters. He was employed by C&EI Railroad and retired from CSX Railroad after 43 years of service. He was an avid Cardinal Fan. He enjoyed dancing, camping and his little dog, Misty. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus. A celebration of Leroys life will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, December 30th, 2007, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Pastor Leon Korb will officiate the service. Visitation will be 3pm to 7pm, Saturday, December 29th, 2007, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Leroys name to donors choice.
