Inez Lyday, 92, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:05am, Monday, December 27, 2021, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. She was born on October 19, 1929, the daughter of Mose and Dora {Loveall} Collom. She was united in marriage to Richard Lyday in July of 1952 until his passing. Inez is survived by her children, Craig Lyday of Georgetown, Sam Lyday of Georgetown, Cheryl (Robert) Wilson of Ridge Farm, and Patty (Kent) Hartman of Westville; her grandchildren, Kala Kumar, Michael (Stacy) Vice, Chris Vice, & Brinna Murphy; her great grandchildren, Kirsten (David) Moore, Maisie, Chloe, Alivia, Isabella, Joshua Pickett, Krishna Kumar, Madelyn Vice, Michael & Patrick Ganley, Beth McMahan, Brian Murphy, & Evony Murphy; and her sister, Shirley Razmus. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, Letha Collom, Vernard Collom, Vernon Collom, Dale Collom, Vivian Voyles, Iretta Bell, Lois McNulty, & Ruth Woods. In her early years, Inez was a secretary for Ingram Law Firm in Newport, Indiana. She worked for several convenient stores including the Caseys in Ridge Farm. She had also worked for Petersons in Danville and cooked at the Lamplighter. She loved to play cards, watch the Chicago Cubs, and rolling dice. She was known to always have a jigsaw puzzle on her table to pass the time. She loved her family and spending time with them and was lovingly known as Granny to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A private family celebration of Inezs life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. She will be laid to rest in Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana.
