Cayuga, IN - Imogene Peelman Hamand, 81, of Cayuga went to be with her Heavenly Father at 12:45 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She was born March 11, 1935 in Danville, IL to Lozier Roy and Ruth Belle (Brown) Pratt. Imogene first married Robert Lowell Wills and they had three daughters, Phyllis Tuggle of Marshfield, WI, Rhonda DeBarba of Ayersville, OH, and Virginia Banks of Oakwood, IL. They all survive. Imogene then married Charles C. Peelman. He preceded her in death in 2000. Imogene then married Paul Amos Hamand, Sr. He survives. Also surviving Imogene are her stepchildren, Jodi (Chris) Hamand of IN, Melinda Hamand of IN, and Paul (Kaylieh) Hamand of IN; grandchildren, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Tuggle of WI, Jennifer Tuggle of WI, Jessica (Chad) Polineau of OH, Shelby DeBarba of OH, Tanner Rogers of Oakwood, IL, Amos, Corvan, Kori, Ilyssa, Laney and Charlie, all of IN; great-grandchildren Jordynn and Julian of WI; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, brother Eugene, sisters Patricia Miner and Clydia Cooper, and son-in-law Robert Banks. Imogene was employed at Peterson-Puritan (KIK) for 48 years. She was Union President at the Local Aluminum, Brick, and Glass Worker 201 B (USW) for 18 years. Imogene enjoyed gardening and cooking. Her holiday meals were amazing and it was always jokingly said she made enough for an army! Visitation for Imogene Hamand will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 24, also at Sunset in Danville. Pastor Phil Jackson will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the services with interment at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Danville VFW 728.
