Imogene G Johnson

Imogene Woods Johnson, 94, of Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, passed away on July 16, 2017. She was born on October 27, 1922, in Young America Township to Homer and Gertrude {Wagner} Woods. She was united in marriage to Morris Johnson on September 1, 1951, until his passing on December 5, 2005. Mrs. Johnson is survived by: her brother, Russell Woods of Westville, IL; and several nieces & nephews including, Janet (Lloyd) Jackson of Bloomington, IL, and Teresa (Tim) Patterson, and Kathy (Joe) Steen of Paris, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Johnson left high school in her junior year when her mother died and took care of her brothers and sisters then went back and completed her senior year later. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson were very active in their community when they lived in the Georgetown area. They volunteered at the elementary school and the First Church of Christ in Georgetown where they taught Sunday School and were the custodians for several years. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, 400 W Washington, Chrisman, with Brother Karl Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Vermilion Cemetery after the service. Memorial donations to Pleasant Meadow Senior Living, Chrisman.
