Imogene Collom

Imogene Collom, 93, of Georgetown, went to be with the Lord at 4:55pm, Thursday, April 20, 2017, at her home. She was born on July 10, 1923, in Humrick, IL, the daughter of Willie and Carrie {Mullins} Johnson, both deceased. She was married to William H. Collom on March 1, 1944, until his passing in 1983. She is survived by: her daughters, Suetta "Sue" Williams of Chrisman & Bridget Keller of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Ricky (Cheryl) Clark, Suzette (John) Brady, Toni (Jerry) Staub, all of Ridge Farm, Chelly (David) Howell of Tilton, Lisa Keller of Georgetown, and Billy Collom of Georgetown; her fifteen great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her son, Dean Collom; two infant sons, Roger & Timothy; her grandson, Matthew Keller; her friend whom she considered a daughter; two brothers; and two sisters. Growing up, Imogene enjoyed her doll that she had and turned that passion into collecting dolls during her life. She never knew a stranger and enjoyed visiting with people. She loved to take care of her house, especially when it came to washing dishes and crocheting. Imogene cherished the Lord in her life and loved her Church family at Bible Missionary Church in Georgetown. She treasured her family and enjoyed being with them. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. A celebration of Imogene's life will be held at 12:00pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West ST, Georgetown, with Pastor Roger Mertens officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in McKendree Cemetery. A dinner will be served at the Georgetown Community Center (Washington Gym) directly after the service; please bring a covered dish.
