Ilene H. Gaydos, 103, of Danville, passed away on June 8, 2015 at her home. She was born on December 10, 1911 in Danville, the daughter of Robert Lee and Ruth (Albert) Hughes. She married George Gaydos on September 4, 1930 in Kankakee, IL. He preceded her in death in 1992. Ilene will be deeply missed by her daughter, Patricia Brown, grandchildren, Philip (Cheryl) Brown and David (Cindy) Brown, great grandchildren; Travis (Samantha) Brown, Megan Brown, Mark Brown, Ashley Brown, Courtney (Craig) Woodfill, Ryan (Cara) Roberts and Amy (Jake) Dorsey, great-great grandchildren; Hanna, Patrick, Henry, Creighton and Crew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Robert and Henry Hughes, one sister, Geraldene Wodetzski and one son-in-law, Jack Brown. Ilene graduated from Danville High School in 1928. She was the store manager at various downtown businesses for 21 years before retiring from Mangels in 1974. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and loved to garden, cook, paint, and play the organ and guitar. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ilene will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 1:30 PM at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Danville with Fr. Robert Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Ilene will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Memorials can be made in Ilene's name to St. Paul's Catholic Church. Condolences can be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
