Ileane Thornsbrough

Danville - Ileane Thornsbrough, 89, passed away on September 23, 2016 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. She was born in Hoopeston, IL on June 17, 1927 the daughter of Clarence R. and Lillie (Duffin) Timmons. She married Robert E. Thornsbrough on May 7, 1949 in Hoopeston, IL; he preceded her in death on October 27, 1977. Ileane is survived by sons; Don (Marcie) Thornsbrough of Bardwell, KY, Dan (Karen) Thornsbrough of Georgetown, IL; daughter, Cindy (Phil) Stumph of the rural Danville area; grandchildren, Kristin (Ralph) Truelove of MI, Chad (Laura) Thornsbrough of KY, Troy (Danielle) Thornsbrough of KY, Kip (Nicole) Thornsbrough of CA, Brandi (Sean) Hanrahan, FL, Tim (Kathy) Andrews of Fairmount, Amy (Nick) Myers of Bismarck and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister; Thelma Zorns, infant sisters; Virginia Marcel and Irene, who were both deceased at birth. Ileane was a farm wife, who loved to cook, bake and canning. She loved spending her time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and visiting among good friends. Ileane lived her last 8 years on her daughter's farm in a custom-built two bedroom apartment just for her and her beloved canine companion "Honey Bear"; together they enjoyed planting flowers, feeding the chickens and gardening. Ileana's family have held a graveside service for her at Mann's Chapel Cemetery in Rossville, IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center at 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61834 was in charge of arrangements.
