Ila Hoskins

Ila M. Hoskins, 98, of Westville passed away at 5:05 am on Saturday, December 07, 2013 at Gardenview Manor. She was born on March 24, 1915, in Jamaica, IL, the daughter of Howard and Eva (Vest) Comer. She married the love of her life, Chester Lookingbill, and they enjoyed 19 years together before he passed away in 1950. Ila is survived by her daughter, Gwen (James) Wilson; twelve grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Raymond R. Lookingbill, Ronald E. Lookingbill and William H. Lookingbill; her brothers and sisters. Ila always enjoyed the spontaneous trip to her favorite fishing spot or a challenging game of Euchre. She was adventurous and when she learned of her families plan for a rafting trip, she was going and there was no talking her out of it. Ila enjoyed all of lifes experiences and treasured her children and grandchildren tremendously. She was a beautiful, old-fashioned lady who will be greatly missed. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Ila Hoskins will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Newman Cemetery with Rev. Andy Lomax officiating. Memorials in Ilas name may be made to San Xavier Mission. Sunset-Urbas Chapel in Westville assisted the family with arrangements.
