Idell Marie Esther Falconnier

Idell Marie Ester Falconnier, 98, of Champaign, IL formerly of Highland, passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at the Tuscola Health Care Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Highland, IL. Idell was born on June 26, 1918 to parents Edward and Anna (Ottwein) Reker on the family farm in Marine, IL. On June 14, 1941, she married Richard Falconnier. He passed away on January 5, 1979. Also, proceeding her in death were two brothers Edwin and Harold Reker and one sister, Frieda Walters. Idell attended Hunter School in Marine IL. Following her marriage, she assisted her husband in managing their dairy farm. Idell also worked for the Highland Chastain Nursing Home in medical records for 28 years. Following her retirement, she moved to Champaign, IL to be closer to her family. Idell enjoyed playing cards, was a devoted Cardinal baseball fan, and an avid gardener. As the family historian, she wrote a book, organized family photographs, and kept accurate detail of the family genealogy. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Donna Falconnier of Champaign, IL. Her sister, Mildred Becker of Marine, IL; two grandsons, Brent (Katie) Kaufmann and Grant (Stephanie) Kaufmann; five great-grandchildren also survive her.
