Idamae Lippert

Idamae Lippert, 90, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 in Danville, IL. She was born on August 13, 1932 in Wilmington Delaware to Richard and Dorothy Mann, but was raised by Clarence and Mary Elliott.

Idamae is survived by one son, William (Holly) Norton; three stepchildren, Pat Fender, Judy Pelzinsky, and Stanley Lippert; grandchildren, Neil (Shelly) Norton, Eric Hill, Carl Hill, and several step grandchildren; also surviving are great grandchildren, Tyler Norton, Isabella Norton, and several step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; adoptive parents; husband, Charlie; and grandson, Shane Norton.

Idamae worked at General Electric in Danville for 17 years, retiring when she married Charlie. She was an avid angel collector, a Chicago Cubs fan, and a Fighting Illini fan. She enjoyed fishing with Charlie and her grandchildren. She also enjoyed mushroom hunting with her neighbor, Barb Pichon. Idamae was a longtime bowler; she was in several leagues in town from 1964 to 1997. In 2007 Idamae was inducted into the Danville Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She was especially proud of her high game of 267, and her high series of 587. Idamae was also a longtime member of The Women of the Moose, a fraternal organization. She will be dearly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Officiating will be Pastor Raymie Gordon. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held just prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Idamaes name to a charity of your choice.
