Ida Ritter

Danville - Ida Jeanette Ritter, 98, of Danville passed away at 11:25 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Gardenview Manor in Danville. She was born on March 22, 1916 in Danville, the daughter of Carl O. and Leone O. (Stevens) Roberts. She married Roy Carl Ritter on April 29, 1935 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1998. She is survived by four children, Esther (Walt) Richter of Danville, Evelyn (Orville) Davis of Williamsport, Richard (Janet) Ritter of St. Cloud, FL, and Carol J. Sivils of Tilton; three sisters, Carol Ann Willis, Dorothy Mae Paris, and Margaret Bryant; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elmer; sister, Roseline; and a great-grandson, Aaron. Ida had worked as a home health care LPN and at Eisners Bakery, but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker. She liked to cook and have meals with her family and any others who may stop by. Ida also loved Danville, and wanted to be in her hometown. A service to celebrate the life of Ida Ritter will be held at 3 PM on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will also be held from 2-3 PM prior to the service on Monday, also at the funeral home.
