Howard Leon Taylor, 78, of Danville passed away at 9:39 PM on March 22, 2022 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center in Urbana, IL.
Howard was born on June 1, 1943 the son of Virgil and Evelyn (Sowers) Taylor in Danville, IL. He married Alma Jane Pate on October 7, 1961 and she preceded him in death on September 6, 2005.
Survivors include his two sons, Tim (Melisa) Taylor of Carbondale, IL, Mike (Linda) Taylor of Fithian, IL, his daughter, Debbie (Doug) Winkler of Danville, IL, five grandchildren, Cody Michael Taylor, Zachary Ryan Taylor, Timothy James Taylor, Nikita Taylor, and Ayrton Winkler as well as sister Valerie Smith of Danville, IL.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, wife (Alma Jane Taylor), two brothers (Audra Taylor and Allen Tayler), and one sister (Debra Taylor).
Howard served in the United States Army and was retired from Bohn Aluminum/Heatcraft. Howard had a lifelong passion for 50s Rock Music. In his younger years, he played guitar in various, popular bands and recorded rock songs named "Bubble Gum" and "Goodbye Train".
Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post 210 Honor Guard on Thursday, April 14th, 2022 at 11:00 am. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
