Danville - Howard Carl Wendt passed away on February 15, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville, Il. He was born on November 27, 1930, the son of Otto and Beatrice Wendt. Carl married Juanita Whisler on March 10, 1957. He is survived by his wife, Juanita, sons; Doug Wendt of Orlando, Fl., Alan (Christina) Wendt of Champaign, Il. and Joe (Louise) Buck of Rossville, Il., grandchildren; Jason Buck, Jennifer Harris, Jamie Judy, John Shutes, Jordan Buck, Alex Wendt, and Christopher Wendt, great-grandchildren; Taylor, Ryan, Kyle, Brenner, Ryleigh, Easton, Sierra and Robbie. Carl was an offset pressman at Recording and Statistical in Danville for 37 years. He enjoyed building model airplanes, going fishing, hunting, drawing and collecting black powder rifles. He was a member of Farmers Chapel United Methodist Church in Danville. Carl proudly served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Jacqueline. A celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville immediately following the visitation starting at 9:00 am. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
