Howard A Shelton

Howard A. Shelton, 66, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 10:09 am on Sunday, February 21st, 2016 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. He was born January 9, 1950 in Danville, the son of Wilbur and Esther (Steeples) Shelton. He married Valarie Lawver in July 5, 1968. They were married for 22 years. She survives. Other survivors include his two children, Kim (Tom) Darby of Danville and Chad (Mindy) Shelton of Georgetown; his 6 grandchildren, Lane Shelton, Gavan Shelton, Lexi Darby, Jake Darby, Carson Darby, and Leyla Shelton.; and 2 nephews, Todd Satterlee and Travis Shelton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Shelton. Howard was a graduate of Ridge Farm High School. He sold vehicles in the area for over 45 years. He started his career at the former Loyal Nimrick Ford in Georgetown and spent the majority of his career at Mooney Motors in Chrisman, IL. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and sharing his many stories with family and friends. A celebration of the life of Howard Shelton will be held at 11:00 am on FRIDAY, February 26th, 2016 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. Officiating services will be Rev. James Blue. He will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm THURSDAY, February 25th at the funeral home.
