Hiram Eugene Morrow

Hiram Eugene Gene' Morrow, 88, of Danville, passed away at 10:50pm on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the North Logan Health Care Center in Danville. He was born on March 23, 1923 in Paris, IL, the son of Hiram E. and Ethel Morrow. Both are deceased. Gene married his first wife; Myrna, and were blessed with two children; Sherry (Mel) Troutwine of Michigan, and Tim Morrow. Tim precedes Gene in death. He later married his second wife; Pauline until her death. He is survived by his third wife; Mary Clearwater-Goodner of 22 years. Other survivors include; four step-sons; John (Linda) Goodner of California, Jeff (Julie) Goodner of Fairmount, Steve (Sara) Goodner of Decatur, Scott (Barbara) Goodner of Oakwood, and two step-daughters; Becky (Carl) Chambliss of Catlin, and Ellen (Jim) Russell of Danville. He is also survived by his two grandchildren; Kevin (Dede) Koryto, Brian (Leia) Koryto, two great-grandchildren; Brandon and A.J., and one brother; Jim Morrow of Indianapolis, and special lois,and many nieces and nephews, and his special friend Lois. In addition to his parents and two wives and his son Tim; his sister Dorothy Deen, one brother-in-law Fred Deen, and one sister-in-law; Lois Morrow preceded Gene in death. He was a graduate of Paris High School and an Air force Veteran. He retired from ESCO as a master wielder, and was a true Chicago Cub and Illini fan. He enjoyed making homemade wine, camping, traveling, dancing, and listening to guitar and fiddler music. He will be missed by all that knew him. Gene's family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the North Logan Health Care Center in Danville for their caring support over the past 3 year for they were treated like family. They would also like to thank Gene's buddy and Co-worker; Carl Penrod. A Celebration of Life Service for Hiram Gene' Morrow is scheduled for 11:00am on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to follow at Springhill Cemetery in Danville. Jim Russell, (Gene's son-in-law), has been asked to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-7pm on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial condolences may be made to either the North Logan Health Care Center Activity Fund or the Timothy Hills Boy's Ranch located in New York.
