Hilda Wangler, 91, of Danville, passed away at 11:27pm on Wednesday February 21, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn. Sher was born on June 1, 1926 in Terre Haute, IN the daughter of John and Blanch Claypool. On December 25, 1945 Hilda married the love of her life William V. Wangler and they spent the next 63 years together before his passing in 2009. Hilda is survived by her daughter Peggy (Howard) Carrell; sons, Bill (Candi) Wangler, Brian (Lindy) Wangler; son-in-law, John Childs; grandchildren, Melissa (Matt) Eldridge, Brad (Julie) King, Eric Childs, Amanda (Phil) Cox, Amy (Aaron) Hird, Nick (Katie) Wangler, Nathan Wangler, Natalie Wangler; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Eldridge, Carter Eldridge, Landon Cox, Payton Cox, Bracie Hird, Brycie Hird, Maddilynn Hird, Chloe Wangler, Beckham Wangler, Tomas Cooper, Sage Hoisington, Dylan King and great great-grandchild Harper Lynn Richards. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Freda (Max) Goulding; brothers, John (Betty) Claypool, Charles (Delores) Claypool, Gary (Sue) Claypool, and daughter, Lynn Childs. Hilda's two greatest passions in life were the church and her family. She spent many years teaching Sunday School and she devoted her life to taking care of all her family's needs. She will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Catlin.
