Hester Florina Thompson, 71, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:44am, Saturday, May 17th, 2008, at her home. She was born on January 29th, 1937, in Cayuga, IN, the daughter of James and Sarah Martha (Adams) Priest, both deceased. On June 6th, 1953, in Cayuga, IN, Hester married Leroy Sixty Thompson, who will miss her very much. She will also be missed by: her children, Michael (Cindy) Thompson of Ridge Farm, Aloysius (Dixie) Thompson of Clarks Hill, IN, Daniel Dingo (Michellee) Thompson of Cayuga, IN, Thomas (Karen) Thompson of Georgetown, Claudia (Rick Adkisson) McCool of Georgetown, & Florence Thompson of Georgetown; her seventeen grandchildren; her twenty-five great grandchildren; her one great-great grandchild; her sisters, Anna Shannon of Georgetown, Letha Fitzwater of Georgetown, Martha Smith of Georgetown, Mary Hinkle of Covington, IN, Betty Priest of Georgetown, & Shirley (Marty) Mullen of Westville; and her several nieces & nephews. She will also be missed by her special friends: Dean & Diane Dawson of Georgetown, Teresa Lack Vandewalker of Georgetown, and Virginia Howard of Olivet. Hester was preceded in death by: her son, James Fred Thompson; three grandchildren; five brothers; and five sisters. Hester enjoyed quilting, swimming, singing, feeding the wildlife, mushroom hunting, and being outdoors. She really enjoyed gardening. She also collected angles and dolls. Hester cherished her family and friends and loved spending time with them. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, May 22nd, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West Street, Georgetown, IL. Pastor Leon Korb will officiate. Visitation will be held 12:00pm to 2:00pm, prior to the service at the funeral home. As per her wishes, Hester was cremated. Following the service, a Celebration of Hesters life will be held with a Potluck Dinner for family and friends at the American Legion Dornblaser Post 203.
