Hester Alice Waterstradt

Rockville, Ind. - Hester Alice Waterstradt, 94, of Rockville, passed away at 8:05 p.m. EST Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Rockville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 7, 1922 in Rockville, Indiana the daughter of the late Jasper and Sylvia (Crowder) Catterson. Hester first married Warren Paddock. She later married Harry Waterstradt in 1960 in Champaign, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1993. Survivors include one daughter, Star (James) Akers of Columbia City, Indiana; three sons, Warren W. (Joyce) Paddock; Ronald Paddock and Grady (Mary Beth) Paddock and of Rockville, Indiana; several grandchildren; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hermine Catterson Blackman of Clinton, Indina; several nieces and nephews, and her specail companion, Claude Britt of Rockville, Indiana. Hester was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Cramer and brother, Lester Catterson. Hester was the head cook at the Lutheran Church School in Danville, Illinois for many years. She attended the Rockville Assembly of God and Rockville Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, baking and singing at church and the local nursing homes. Graveside services: 11 a.m. EST Monday, December 5, 2016 at Beacon Hill Cemetery south of Rockville, Indiana; Officiating: Dr. Stephen Gladding. There will be no visitation. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
