Herman "Rex" Cobble, 88, of Georgetown, passed away at 3:45pm, Monday, December 18, 2017, at his home. He was born on August 18, 1929, in Libertyville, Indiana, the son of Floyd and Clarice {Swaim} Cobble. He was united in marriage to Martha Butler on June 18, 1955 at the VA Chapel in Danville. She will miss him dearly. Also surviving are: his son, Herman "Rex" (Teresa) Cobble; his daughters, Paula (Kenneth) Ray, Pamela Blue, & Patricia Cobble; his thirteen grandchildren; and his twenty-eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; an infant brother; and infant sister. Rex was a proud Veteran of the US Marines. He was a member of the American Legion Post #51 of Westville. He enjoyed gardening and loved being with his family. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. A celebration of Rex's life will be held at 11:00am, Friday, December 22, 2017, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 10a to 11am, Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #210. Memorial donations may be given in his name to American Heart Association.
