Herman M. Morris, 75, passed away on June 23, 2024 at his home in Danville. He was born in Danville on May 6, 1949 to the late Dale and Gladys Morris. He married Connie Newell on May 22, 1999 in Hawaii. She survives. Also surviving are his children Dale (Angie) Morris, Jessica (James) Morris, Tonya Darling, and John Bohlen, 7 grandsons, and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson Austin Darling.
Herman retired from Tridan International in 2018. His retirement gave him extra time for some of his favorite pastimes, like spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cheering them on during their various extracurriculars and particularly enjoyed taking them fishing. He loved to keep up with NHRA and attend drag races, and he also enjoyed participating in drag races with his Corvette. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades and could fix nearly everything, or he surely tried to at least. He was always known to go out of his way for others on many occasions. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, and an all-around good man; he will be greatly missed.
Private services for his family will be held. He will be laid to rest near his parents at Georgetown Cemetery. Sunset Funeral Homes Houghton-Leasure Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
