Herman K. Williamson of Danville, born May 16, 1928, in Forest, Louisiana to Frank and Lula Mae (Shelton) Williamson, passed away September 6, 2015 in Danville. Herman proudly served in the United States Air Force, entering in 1945, retiring in 1966. He then worked for Springfield Electric retiring from there in 1988. He was a member of the Masons Olive Branch #38, Good Sam's Club (Salty Sam's) and a member of the Famers Chapel United Methodist Church. Herman loved fishing and camping. Family meant everything to him. He especially loved family get togethers and enjoyed spending time with his grand kids. Herman married his first wife, Wilma (Wiedle) Williamson, November 9, 1946 in Washington D.C., they had 62 wonderful years together until her passing on 5/24/2009. He then married Marie Jacobson, who survives. He is survived by his dear children, Roger (Joanne) Williamson, Randall (Martha) Williamson Rhonda (Scott) Walter, and Rose (Gary) Mammele; his cherished grandchildren, Sandra Kaas, Rhonda Lopez, Rachel Davis, Robert Williamson, Sean Walter, and John Walter; his adored great grandchildren, Justin Williamson, Kylie Kaas, Jessica Lopez, Taylor Kaas, Lauren Davis, Audrey Williamson, Noah Walter and Hart Williamson; his step grandchildren, Michael Mammele, Samantha Quigley; his step great grandchildren, Dominic Quigley, Lauren Mammele and Kara Mammele; his dear brothers, Jack (Annie) Williamson and Billy (Ruby) Williamson; and by many other dear relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter; his parents; and by three brothers. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Sep. 9, from 4 - 6 p.m. and a celebration of life service at 11 am, Thursday, Sep. 10, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, Ill. with Pastor Jan Reeder officiating. Interment will follow at Danville National Cemetery.
