HERLEY DEAN REDENBAUGH Herley Dean Redenbaugh, 72, of Danville, passed away at 9:14 p.m. at his home, after a valiant fight with cancer for 6 years. He was born August 10th, 1938 in Waynetown, Indiana to Garold and Hazel (Keller) Redenbaugh. He married Sandy Kelsheimer on August 16th, 1968 in Attica, Indiana and together they have one daughter- Melody Redenbaugh Wilson and two granddaughters-Jessica and Amber Wilson. He was previously married to Linda Stoup Redenbaugh and from that marriage he has two sons-Garold and Glenn (Laura) Redenbaugh. There are five grandchildren- Shannon, Danny, Jimmy, Chuck and Nathan. Also surviving are one sister- June (Vernon) Hopper and one brother- Greg (Julie) Redenbaugh, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by very good friends- John Hefling, Bob Maxwell, Rick Williams and Jim Switzer. His parents preceded him in death as well as his mother-in-law- Evelyn Atteberry, with whom he was very close. Dean dearly loved his motorcycle and rode many miles. He also had many good times over the years with antique cars and his street rods. He never met a stranger and made many friends on various trips. He enjoyed playing music and singing. He spent a lot of time with his granddaughters and they played dominoes and marbles. He was a member of Danville First United Methodist Church. Dean retired from Cronkhite Industries in 2004 after 21 years of service. He previously worked at Esco Corporation as a crane operator. A Celebration of the life of Herley Dean Redenbaugh will be at 10:00 a.m. September 20th, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, 3940 North Vermilion Street, Danville. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Carle Hospice.
