Herbert 'Herb' L. Shuey Jr.

Herbert Herb" L. Shuey, Jr., 74, of Westville, passed away at 9:00am, Monday, September 18, 2017, at his home. He was born on April 5, 1943, the son of Herbert Sr. and Elaine {Bossoloni} Shuey. He was united in marriage to Brenda Stewart on December 6, 1975, in Danville, IL. She survives. Other survivors include: his mother, Elaine Shuey; his son, Matthew (Kristin) Shuey of Westville; his brother, Bill Shuey; his sister, Jackie (Roger) Gruner; his granddaughter, Lillian Shuey. He was preceded in death by his father. Herb graduated from the Uof I in 1961. He worked as an engineer for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation and retired at 55. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and had served as Past Commander. Herb was also a member of the Elks Club 322. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Herb's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Toys for Tots.
