Henry "Hank" Welden Walsh Henry "Hank" Welden Walsh peacefully passed away June 11, 2015 in Danville, IL at the age of 85. Hank was born to William and Ada (Smith) Walsh on July 3, 1929 in Bourbonnais, IL. Funeral services will be at Ridgeview Baptist Church in Danville, IL all are invited to go directly to the church on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 11:30 AM. Pastor Mark Keyser from Ridgeview Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home in Danville, IL on Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:30 PM. Burial will follow the funeral at Springhill Mausoleum in Danville, IL. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sunset Funeral Home. Hank arrived in Danville, IL in 1950 where he enjoyed skating at the Illini Skating Rink where he met Virginia Greene. They were skating partners and then married on May 5, 1951 at Central Christian Church. They have been married for 64 years. Survivors are his wife, Virginia and their four children Linda Walsh, Debra O'Malley from Champaign, IL, Jeff (Kim) Walsh, and Lori Parkey from Houston, Texas. He will be greatly missed by their five grandchildren, David Walsh, Melissa Cadle, Ryan Walsh, Meagan (Chad) Tabler and Billy (Claudia) Parkey. They also have 10 great- grandchildren, Cairo Figueroa, Davian Dunne, Isabella, Brandon and Caroline Parkey, Adian and Dean Walsh, Wyatt and Garrett Tabler, Tyler Walsh. Other survivors are his brother-in-laws, Paul Greene, John Greene, Jim (Emma) Greene, Kyle Turner and a sister-in-law Helen Turner, along with several nieces and nephews. Their special four legged family members Taffy, Lacy and Bootsie will greatly miss him, too. Over the years he had various jobs. He was Manager of the Deep Rock Station (Greene Oil Company), on Gilbert and Williams Street for 13 years. He worked as a machinist at Esco and retired at Furry's Machine Shop in 1996. He was a talented wood worker, enjoyed traveling and camping. Hank was an active member at Ridgeview Baptist for almost 60 years and after he retired he was the churches custodian for 3 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Ridgeview Memorial Fund.
