Henry Arnold Marxmiller, 94, of Danville passed away on July 21, 2009 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Arnold was born April 28, 1915 in Rossville, Illinois son of Homer and Martha (Stevens) Marxmiller. He married Nina Youngblood on May 22, 1937 at Central Christian Church in Danville. She preceded him in February of 1994. Survivors include two children: Sharon (George) Roderick and David (Cathy) Marxmiller; brother: Jerry Marxmiller; and grandchildren: Kelly and Abby Roderick. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Christopher, three brothers Ralph, Harley, and Neal, and four sisters Ardith, Clela, Flossie, and Maxine. Arnold was a graduate of Rossville High School and had worked as a body and fender man in the Danville area for 50+ years, and also instructing at VOTEC before retiring in 1987. Arnold was a life member of Central Christian Church in Danville for a number of years, and also, part of the CO-ED class. He enjoyed golfing, going to Steak & Shake with David, his beloved dogs Tammy & Buffy and cat Tony; but, most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. A Celebration of Arnolds Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, July 24, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Memorials may be made in Arnold name to Central Christian Church and/or Provena Hospital in Danville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
