Helen Thornsbrough

Helen Marie Thornsbrough, 89, of Danville went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 15, 2006. Helen was born March 30, 1917 in Danville daughter of Verner and Ida Eggert Songer. She married Erville Thornsbrough on July 13, 1940 in Danville. He preceded her death in March of 1993. Surviving is a Son: Fred Thornsbrough of Danville, Daughter: Mrs. Kenneth (Jeannie) Westfahl of Alvin, a sister: Stella Good of Danville, & a special sister-in-law: Mary Songer of Danville. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, one son Orville Thomas, and four brothers, Russell, Donald, Lloyd Songer, and Gene Brandt. Helen loved to cook, bake & always enjoyed fixing special family dinners. She was a very giving person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother & will be missed by them. Helen was a member of Southside Church of Christ where she was always ready & willing to help whenever she was needed. A celebration of Helens life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday June 19, 2006 at Southside Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Sunday afternoon at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Southside Church of Christ. The Family would like to make special mention of the staff at Bowman Estates.
