Helen Thomas

Helen F. Thomas, 86, of Danville, died at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at Provena U.S.M.C. in Danville. Helen was born December 11, 1919 in State Line, IN, the daughter of Warren and Dora (Irving) Cronkhite. Helen was raised by her foster parents, Roy and Eunice Thomas. She married Edward Pete Thomas in July of 1939 in State Line, IN. He preceded her in death in 1974. Helen is survived by two sons, Ed Butch (Donna) Thomas of Wichita, KS and Timothy Thomas of Danville; one daughter, Carol (Glen) Hughes of Danville; five grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bud Cronkhite, one sister, Mildred Fadden and one infant daughter, Dolly Mae Thomas. Helen retired from the Illiana VA Hospital. She was a Danville High School graduate, where she was on the swim team and in the band. Her love for music continued as she played the organ and piano for her church. Helen loved spending time with her family.
