Helen M. Taylor, 74, of Danville, died at 12:10 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Provena U.S.M.C. in Danville. Helen was born May 29, 1932, in Danville, the daughter of Martin Luther and Mattie May (Watson) Cline. She married Charles Taylor on December 4, 1965 in Danville. He survives. Helen is survived by a son, Steve (Tammy) Talbert of Danville; a daughter, Cheryl (Warren) Buck of Danville; a step-son, Jed Taylor of Danville; two step-daughters, LuAnn (Norland) Kinney of Fairmount and Kathy Stitt of Danville; twenty-four grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Charity Reeves of Danville. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, one sister, one son, Jim Talbert, and 2 grandchildren. Helen loved flowers and with that love she began a long career as a florist, first working at Danville Floral for two years. She then worked at Wright Floral for eight years before purchasing the business, which then became Taylor Floral. Helen owned and operated the business until her retirement in 2001. She loved to cook and to work in her yard. Christmas was Helens favorite time of year. Helen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was known in her family to be the boss and kept everyone in line. Helen was an avid Chicago Cubs and Illini fan. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and had taught Sunday school at Western Baptist Church.
