Helen Sula Truex, 79, of Danville, passed away at 6:42 p.m. on Sunday, May 8 2005 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. Helen was born on January 11, 1926 in Danville, the daughter of Harry and Sula (Cramer) Schmidt. She married Robert L. Truex on January 22, 1948 in Danville. He preceded her in death on April 22, 1986. She is survived by 2 nephews- George (Janet) Schmidt of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Roy Schmidt of farmer City, Illinois; 1 niece- Dorothy Fout of Tilton, Illinois; 2 sister-in-laws- Ruby Schmidt of Danville and Kay (Richard) Stewart of Covington, Indiana; 1 brother-in-law- Charlie (Cheryl) Watts of Covington, Indiana; 2 very special friends- Sonia Snapp of Danville and Helen Krabbe Padro of Del Rio, Texas; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers- Charles Chuck Schmidt and William Bill Schmidt. Helen was a 1943 graduate of Danville High School. She attended grade school at Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked as a lab technician at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Danville. She also worked at Fannie Maes Candies and was an Avon representative. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Robert to Florida. Helen was blessed to have many kind and caring caregivers during her illness and the family would like to thank them for the many kindnesss that was shown to Helen.
