Helen R. Cheeseman

Helen R. Cheeseman, 94, of Danville, passed away at 6:05pm, Friday, March 28, 2014, at North Logan Health Care Center, Danville. She was born on February 29, 1920, in Paxton, IL, the daughter of Emil and Ester {Nelson} Carlson, both deceased. She was wed to Lawrence E. Cheeseman in 1945 in Danville, until his passing in 1994. Helen was a member of the Hooton Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing & crocheting and tending to her flower garden. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by: her sons, Charles Cheeseman of Tilton & Robert Cheeseman of Lake Havasu, AZ; her daughter, Beverly (John) Newberry of Danville; her eight grandchildren; her six great grandchildren; her brothers, Everett (JoAnne) Carlson of Tilton & Floyd (Donna) Benon of Danville; and her sister, Shirley Estes of Rantoul. She was preceded in death by two sisters. A celebration of Helens life will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be held 11am-1pm, Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the funeral home prior to her service. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to American Diabetes Association.
