Helen Louise (Bailey) Phillips, 89, of Danville, formerly of Tilton, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2008 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. Helen was born on May 17, 1918 in Danville, the daughter of Carl and Nellie (Groves) Bailey. She married James L. Phillips on September 1, 1937 in Covington, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1997. She is survived by one son- John Phillips of Catlin; three daughters- Judith Remmers of Bloomington, Indiana, Linda (Roger) Coan of Catlin and Sharon Hibler of Mangham, Louisiana; one sister- Beulah Roher of Chrisman; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, daughter-in-law- Delores Phillips and son-in-law- Rick Hibler.. Helen graduated from Danville High School and Later attended Brown-Utterback Business College in Danville. She worked at Walgreens and Osco for several years until she retired. She enjoyed reading, bowling, crossword puzzles and traveling to Florida. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Helen Louis Phillips will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Dustin Wells officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 " 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Donors Choice.
