Danville- Helen Maxine Miller, 85, of Danville passed away at 1:10 PM on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on July 17, 1924 in Milmine, IL to Richard and Carrie Manley French. She married Stuart Miller on June 27, 1942. Surviving are 4 children, Richard (Bobbi) Miller of Toledo, OH, H. Dean Miller of Danville, IL, Thomas (Debby) Miller of Paris, IL, and Connie (Doral) Miller of Defiance, OH; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, twin grandsons, brother, and grandparents. Maxine had worked at Carson Pirie Scott, Water Company and most recently the Vermilion County Courthouse as a bailiff. She was a member of the Faith Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star. Maxine enjoyed crafts, knitting, crocheting, counted cross-stitch, smocking and sewing. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially enjoyed the many trips to Florida with Stuart. Services for Helen Maxine Miller will be at 2 pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Visitation will take place from 1-2 Pm prior to the services on Wednesday. Pastor Bill Carpenter of Faith Church of Christ will officiate the funeral following visitation for family and friends.
