Helen Irene Malloy, 88, of Danville, passed away at 5:46 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at Provena USMC- Logan Campus in Danville. She was born August 22, 1915 in Laura, Illinois, the daughter of Grover C. and Mabel (Martin) De Wolfe. She married Chilton "Jack" Malloy on October 31, 1945 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1987. Helen is survived by: 1 Daughter- Nedra (Jack) Howland of Danville; 2 Grandchildren- Brian (Juli) Howland of Danville, Jennifer (Bill) Parliament of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; 5 Great-Grandchildren- Kailey, Kyle, Alexis, Westley, Joah, and 1 Great-Grandson expected in August 2004, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 Brothers: Vernon DeWolfe and Roy De Wolfe. She worked as an L.P.N. for Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of St. James Methodist Church in Danville since moving to the area in 1980. She was a member and past president of VFW Auxiliary- Post # 999 Chillicothe, IL; she was voted Who's Who of American Women in 1964 for her work with toys for children and the United Way, and was a member and past MCO of Gao Grotto Cauldren in Danville. She was a current resident of Pleasant Meadows in Crisman, and loved to crochet and play bingo.
