Potomac Helen Lucile Turner, 95 of Potomac, IL was re-united with her husband in Heaven on July 13, 2019 at 12:03 PM.
Helen was born the daughter of Harley A. and Minnia Pearl (Allen) Greene in Terre Haute, IN on June 5, 1924. She married Kyle N. Turner on November 12, 1944 in Danville, IL and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1993.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert (Deborah) Turner of Danville, IL and Richard (Brenda) Turner of Alvin, IL, three daughters, Joyce Brutlag of Potomac, IL, Jackie Reitsma of Danville, IL and Amy (Cliff) Hegg of Danville, IL, two brothers, Paul Greene of Danville, IL and John Greene of Danville, one sister Virginia Walsh of Danville, IL as well as seven grandchildren, Cory, Meredith, Jake, Josh, Nathan, Torrie and Dalton, twelve great-grandchildren, a special son-in-law, Darrell (Mindy) Frichtl, and special friend Diane Catomer.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kyle, one infant brother and one brother, James, one daughter, Karen Frichtl, one granddaughter Kalani Turner and one great-grandson Kyle Reitsma.
Helen was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church where she was active in several church related groups. She was a Danville High School graduate. Helen and her husband, Kyle owned and operated Midwest Stamp and Printing that began in 1959. After the closing of the business in 1997, Helen went on to work at Wal-Mart in the Optical Department for 14 years until her retirement at the age of 91. (She was the little lady that cleaned eyeglasses.) In her free time she enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidery work, crossword and jigsaw puzzles. In her younger years, she volunteered at the Center for Childrens Services, Meals on Wheels, and many other places. Her children and grandchildren were her life, and she enjoyed attending their various school programs and sporting events. Helen became a Christian at a young age, and her faith was very important to her. Her legacy lives on in her children and her grandchildren who will forever remember her gentle spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Mark Keyser will officiate. Entombment will be in Spring Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 4:00 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Ridgeview Baptist Church Youth Activity Fund.
