Helen L. Mallinson

Helen L. (Powell) Mallinson, 83, of Georgetown went to be with her Lord at 5:20 a.m. Saturday November 15, 2008. She was born on April 5, 1925 in Olivet, IL the daughter of Thomas J. and Gladys Ireland Powell. She married Clarence Mallinson on June 15, 1958 in Casey, IL. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1974. Survivors include: one daughter, Sue McConnell; two granddaughters, Shelly and Wendy Rubis; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Delores Pilkington of Chrisman, Linda (Fran) Wheeler of Georgetown, and Sonna K. (Ron) Gross of Georgetown; three aunts, Lois McNaughton of Ft. Wayne, IN, Lorraine Ireland of Danville, and Arlina Ireland of Okeechobee, FL; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Vergene Hayes of Danville. She was preceded in death by: her parents and one brother, Don Powell. Helen had worked for the Georgetown New Agency and then at Gulicks before retiring. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Danville. Helen loved to read and loved working with her flowers. She loved crocheting and working with her hands. She especially loved her family and her church. A celebration of Helens life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday November 20, 2008 at the First Church of the Nazarene 2212 N. Vermilion Danville, IL. Rev. Dave Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday November 19, 2008 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Danville.
