Helen L. Rowlen Heath, 87, of Danville, IL, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2011. She was born to Jessie Sands and Frances Rowlen on April 15, 1924, in Catlin, IL. She was a graduate of Danville High School in 1942, and attended Olivet Nazarene College, and Utterback Business College in Danville. She married Richard A. Heath of Covington, IN, on June 10, 1945. They were married 62 years before he preceded her in death on Oct 3, 2007. Helen worked as a Bookkeeper for Auto Dealerships, as well as the Covington Grain Elevator. She volunteered to work as a victim's advocate in the Danville Courts for several years, and started the SHARE program in Danville, and also volunteered at the Salvation Army. She won several awards as a volunteer, to include; The Distinguished Teacher's Award at Huntington Park Christian Academy in Shreveport, LA, and Volunteer of the Year for Vermilion County, IL in 1991. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Frances Rowlen of Danville, her brother; Rev. Frank Rowlen of Harrisburg, IL, and her husband; Richard. She is the mother of three children; Rowena Mikkelsen of Keller, TX, James A. Heath of Arlington, TX, and Richard A. Heath of North Richland Hills, TX. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Helen Heath's life is scheduled for 10:00am on Friday, August 5, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Dave Anderson has been asked to officiate.
