Helen I. Colby

Danville- Helen I. Colby, 89, of Danville passed away at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Cox in Sidell, IL on August 17, 1921. Surviving are two brothers-in-law Norman (Judy) Colby of Westfield, IN and James Jim (Marilyn) Colby of Fairfield, IL; four sisters-in-law Peggy (Bob) Beverly Smiley of Danville, Mary Jo Garewal of Holtville, CA, Carol Elizabeth Goings of Champaign, IL, and Frieda Colby of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Dale Colby, her parents, and one brother Ralph Cox. Helen loved animals and enjoyed sitting with her cats. A graveside service for Helen will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery in Danville where burial will take place. Pastor Marvin McCormick will officiate.
