Helen Hudspath

Helen June Hudspath, age 94, of Rantoul, passed away Monday evening, August 10, 2015 at Paxton Healthcare and Rehab Center in Paxton. Born February 26, 1921 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio she was the daughter of Albert and Nancy (Clay) Holcomb. She married the love of her life, John Hudspath, on September 7, 1940 in Ohio. He preceded her in death. Helen had a strong faith in God and sought to know Christ deeper and more fully. As a prayer warrior she spent many hours in prayer for her children, grandchildren and others. Helen was a loving wife, mother and friend. She spent a majority of her life doing one of the hardest and most important jobs of all as a homemaker. She also enjoyed bowling, sewing and reading. Helen treasured traveling and camping with her family. She will be missed by all. She is survived by six children, David Hudspath of Sullivan, IL, John Hudspath of Glenmont, NY, James (Kathy) Hudspath of Albany, NY, Mary (Neal) Edwards of Rantoul, Susan (Kenneth) Hudspath-May of Rantoul, and Stephen (Tina) Hudspath of Rantoul; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many other extended family members. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; two daughters, Nancy Nogues and Carolyn Hudspath; grandson, Mark Chambers; and great granddaughter, Sarah Nogues. A memorial service to celebrate Helen's life will be at 11 am Friday, August 14, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign. Pastor Stephen Hudspath will officiate. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in her name to the Paxton Healthcare and Rehab Center.
