Helen Hudson Motulsky, 86, of Danville passed away at 1:45 A.M. Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at Provena USMC Hospital . She was born February 28, 1919 in Stigler, OK, the daughter of Omar and Pearl Myatt Hudson. Helen graduated from Oklahoma State University and did graduate work in languages at Oklahoma University and had a successful career as an Executive secretary. She married L.L. Lou Motulsky on September 24, 1949. He preceded her in death. Helen lived in Danville for 33 years and was deeply involved in the community she loved. She worked as a realtor in Danville and later taught Rhetoric, Creative Writing and Adult Education at Danville Area Community College. She volunteered for over 20 years as a literacy tutor for DACCs Readers Route, and received a Spotlight on Service award from the state for her contributions. Helen was a teacher, poet and naturalist and was involved with the Danville Public Library, Vermilion County Conservation District, the Roselawn Garden Club, and The Study Circles on Racism, Book Clubs, The Danville Symphony and other community endeavors. Helen was preceded by her parents, three brothers and on nephew. She is survived by her daughter Sue Motulsky of Maynard, Mass.
