Helen (Souspreskis) Holst, 63 of Danville, passed this Life at 3:35pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 31, 1946, the daughter of Tony and Helen (Delilah) Souspreskis. On February 24, 1968, Helen married Carl Pete Holst in Georgetown, IL. He survives along with their two daughters, Tammy (Kirk) Martin of Mason City, IL, and Tracy (Joe) Vincent of Danville. Her three grandchildren, Emily Martin, Abby Martin, Carter Martin, and her brother, Tony (Georgia) Souspreskis of Farmer City, IL, also survive Helen. Her parents and one infant sister preceded her in death. Helen attended Wingard Grade School in rural Georgetown and graduated from Georgetown High School in 1964. She was employed with the Social Security Administration for 35 years, retiring in May of 2009. Helen was a dedicated employee, a go-too person, and always welcomed a challenge when problems arose. She loved her job and was well respected among her co-workers. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville. Past P.T.A. President at Liberty School and involved with D.H.S. Boosters Club for the High School band and swim team. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed watching and rooting for the Illini, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears. She loved gardening and flowers, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. A Celebration of the Life of Helen Holst is scheduled for 10:00am on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Holy Family Catholic Church located at 444 E. Main Street in Danville with Father Ted Pracz to officiate. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery following mass. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-7pm on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Memorial condolences may be made in Helens name to: Provena Hospice, Provena Cancer Center, and/or Holy Family Catholic Church.
