Helen Hewson

Helen M. Hewson, 85, of Danville passed away on August 11, 2007 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Tilton. Helen was born November 27, 1921 in Thawville, Illinois daughter of Lloyd I. and Daisy B. (Wallis) Norvell. She married Edmond Hewson in Muscatine, IA on June 28, 1939. He preceded her in death in April of 1997. Survivors include children: David E. (Sandra) Hewson of Jackson, TN, Nancy (Robert) Weidenburner of Danville, and Marjorie H (Thomas) Murphy of Phoenix, AZ. Brothers: Lloyd (Dorothy) Norvell of Bourbonnais, IL, Glenn (Mary) Norvell of Kannapolis, NC, and Ronald (Marie) Norvell of Arthur, IL. Sisters: Alice (Charles) Bailey of Onargo, IL and Mary Mason of Kankakee, IL. Eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. Helen attended Thawville Schools and had worked for Jewell Food Store retiring after several years. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Danville for a number of years. She dearly loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, & Christian friends. She loved African Violets, keeping house, and helping others. A Celebration of Helens Life will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
