Helen F. Wiesemann, 90, of Westville, passed away at 2:59am, Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at Provena USMC, Danville. She was born on August 29, 1918, the daughter of Joseph and Katrina (Polack) Sedlak, both deceased. On November 10th, 1940, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Ed Wiesemann in Westville until his passing on May 1, 1996. Helen worked as the secretary for St. Marys School for 16 years until her retirement, and is still remembered by many of the former students. She had also worked for Central School in Westville. Helen enjoyed many memberships such as, a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society, and a member of the Illinois Native Plant Society. She also was a member of the Vermilion County Conservation District Foundation. She volunteered for the Maple Syrup Open House, Haunted Happenings, as a building host, and the Counted Cross-Stitch Show, all with the Vermilion County Conservation District. In her spare time, she really enjoyed reading and made a trip to the library faithfully once a month for most of her life. She loved to tend her garden and take care of the flowers. She also enjoyed going to movies and taking walks in the woods. She will be greatly missed by: her sons, Ed Wiesemann of Covington, IN, & Lloyd (Sharon) Wiesemann of Bloomington, IL; her daughter, Lorna (Ken) Konsis of Westville; her grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Wiesemann of Greenwood, IN, Andrew (Jamie) Wiesemann of Fort Stewart, GA, & Matthew Wiesemann of Bloomington, IL; her great grandchildren, Haley Wiesemann, Michael Wiesemann Jr, and step-grandchild, Lucas Skinner. Her brother, Albert and two sisters, Mary & Bertha, preceded Helen in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Friday, January 16, 2009, at St. Marys Church, 231 N State St, Westville. Father Timothy Sauppe will officiate. Visitation will be 5pm to 8pm, Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. She will be laid to rest in St. Peter & Pauls Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in Helens name to St. Marys Foundation or Vermilion County Conservation District Foundation.
