Helen Elizabeth Stickels

Helen E. "Elizabeth" Stickels, 95, of Champaign, passed away at 12:14 am, April 3, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on October 29, 1921 in Fisher, IL, the daughter of Herman & Jennie (Stephens) Williams, both deceased. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Ivan Woodrow Stickels until his passing in July of 1991. Elizabeth is survived by: their six children, Roger (Lanna) Stickels, Charles Russell (Judy) Stickels, Patricia Ann Stickels, Kathleen Elizabeth (Edward) Haton, Tracy W (Leah) Stickels & Terri Lee (Bill) Savage; her grandchildren, Eric T. Stickels, Allen D. Stickels, Robert W. Stickels, Leeanna M. Stickels, Ashley K. Stickels and Jaime C. Broom; her great-grandchildren, Rachel C. Stickels, John E. Stickels, Hannah E Stickels, Fiona C. McGary and Harper E. Stickels; and special friend, Jennifer Melchi. Elizabeth is also survived by: her brothers, Dale Williams, William Williams and Richard "Dick" Williams; and her sister, Mary Ellen Williams Draper. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Herman & Jennie Williams; brothers, Harold "Lefty" Williams, Howard "Doe" Williams, Herman Williams Jr, Delmar "Jiggs" Williams; sisters, Edith Williams Moore and Lola Mae Williams Fairchild. Elizabeth had a day care for many years and influenced many young minds. She will dearly be missed by all who lives she touched. As per her wishes she will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the ARC of Iroquois County and the Champaign County Humane Society.
