Helen E. Walters

Chrisman, Ill. - Helen E. Walters, 88, of Chrisman and formerly of Kingman, Indiana, passed away at 9:30 p.m. CDT Friday, April 3, 2015 at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman. She was born December 27, 1926 in Dana, Indiana the daughter of the late Claude and Zula Myers. Helen married Jessie Gerald Walters on January 1, 1945 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1971. Survivors include her children, Wanda(Carroll)Tingley of Chrisman, Illinois; Geri(Tony)Butcher of Attica, Indiana and Jessie Walters of Janesville, Wisconsin; nine grandchildren; twentythree great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; three sisters, Ruth Grimm of Fithian, Illinois; Norma(Vernon)Peterson of Cayuga and Dorothy(Jack)Martin of Dana, Indiana; two brothers, Raymond(Clarene)Myers of Chrisman, Illinois and Bud(Sue)Myers of Newport, Indiana. Helen was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie and Faye and five brothers, Harold; Everett; Forrest; Robert and Gerald "Shorty" Myers. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching game shows, listening to country music and spending time with her family. Private graveside services were held for family and friends at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana.
