Helen Ann Grove

Danville - Helen Ann Grove, 88, of Danville passed away at 10:17 am on December 20, 2017 at Hawthorne Inn in Danville. Helen was born on November 18, 1929 the daughter of Paul C. "Dick" and Beulah I. (Hargett) Ford in Danville, IL. She married Gordon Grove on February 12, 1953 in Covington, IN and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1990. Survivors are her two sons, John (Karen) Grove of Danville and Daryl (Janet) Grove of Oakwood, four grandchildren, Marcus Ryan Grove of Westville, Lauren Nicole (Sean) Collins of New Palestine, IN, Adam Dale Grove (Deidra Culbreth) of Oakwood, and Sarah Anne Grove of Oakwood, as well as two great grandchildren, Ryder Owen Grove and Colton Michael Collins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gordon. Helen attended the Second Church of Christ in Danville, IL and worked as a Bookkeeper at Sam White's Garage, R&S Printing and later retired from Walgreen's Branch Accounting in Danville. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, word search puzzles, working out in her yard and flower gardening. She enjoyed putting out food for the neighborhood cats and dogs, looked forward to her monthly GM retiree's meetings each month, enjoyed her trips to Branson, MO and loved the shawl / throw that was made for her by the women of St. James United Methodist Church. The family would like to extend a special Thank You to the staff at Hawthorne Inn and Harbor Light Hospice for the care Helen received. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Reverend Randall Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery.
