Helen Elizabeth Allison, 85, of Alvin, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Saturday November 18, 2006 at Vermilion Manor in Tilton. Helen was born May 3, 1921 in Latham, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence Archie and Hazel Fern (Fravell) McCarley. She married Gene Michael Allison on March 31, 1942 in Danville. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1998. . She is survived by one son, Robert Michael (Nancy) Allison of Henning; one daughter,Sharon Sue (Reanis) Boes of Danville; two grandchildren, Brady Michael Allison of Charleston, Illinois and Kevin Matthew Allison of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Lynn McCarley of Arma, Kansas and Gene McCarley of Rock Island, Illinois; two sisters Doris (Keith) Goodner and Shirley (Bill) Lucas, both of Danville; one brother-in-law, Arthur W. (Frannie) Allison, several nieces and nephews, one step grandson, two step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents. Helen retired from General Electric after 19 years of service. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church. She was a past member of Mid-States Mule and Donkey Association and a member of Pleasant Meadows Christian Village auxiliary. Helen raised Pomeranian dogs and Sicilian donkeys. She liked to knit, crochet, and spend time with her family. A celebration of the life of Helen Elizabeth Allison will be held 10:00a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Miles Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00- 7:00p.m.Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
