Helen A. Bloomfield

Danville Helen A. Bloomfield, 82, of Danville passed away surrounded by love at 1:56 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart in Danville. She was born December 31, 1940 in Danville. She was the oldest child of Harold and Mary (Pinchon) Henry. She married Richard Lee Bloomfield who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (John) Squires and Brenda (Mike) Richison; four grandchildren, LeeAnn (Nathan) Filicsky, Justin (Casey) Richison, Jessie (Anderson) Scott, and Jennifer (Micheal) Mack; six great-grandchildren, McKenzie Jo, Rylee Ann, Remly Nichole, Serenity Leeann, Aiden Guy, and River Raye, with another great-granddaughter on the way; and a brother, Raymond Henry.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Randy Lee and Keith Allen Bloomfield; a sister, June and sister-in-law Sharon Henry.

Helen was a graduate of Westville High School and most recently worked as a housekeeper at the Friendship Inn and the Days Inn. She enjoyed puzzles and reading, but her true love was spending time with her family. To her grandchildren, Helen was the worlds coolest grandma. She was great at Nintendo and showed them all the tips and tricks to win. Helen liked to go mushroom hunting and would help the grandkids find their fair share. She was an amazing babysitter and loved every minute that she got to do it.

As an extension to her family, Helen held a special place in her heart for her animals. She took great care of her guinea pigs, beloved dogs Max and Gracie May, her chickens, and even one duck that thinks it is a chicken. Because of this special connection, she never missed her Wednesday trip to the Humane Society thrift shop to support animals of every kind.

A graveside service for Helen Bloomfield will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin, IL. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834 is in charge of arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Helen's name to the Humane Society of Danville.
