Hazel Carmichael

Hazel M. Carmichael, 88, of Danville, passed away at 1:32 p.m. on Monday, September 13, 2004 at Provena U.S.M.C.- Logan Campus in Danville. She was born November 16, 1915 in Tuscola, Illinois, the daughter of Jake and Maude (Gardner) Schweighart. She married Lawrence Carmichael on June 21, 1941 in Louisville, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 1, 1976. She is survived by: 3 Children- Glenrita (John) Beyer of Port St. Lucie, FL, Elizabeth (John) Hayes of North Ft. Meyers, FL and Ronald (Anita) Cockrell of Paulsboro, NJ; a Special Caregiver and Grand-daughter- Elesha Wilson of Danville; 16 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren and 15 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 Daughter- Eva Schrader, 1 Grandson- Danny Schrader, 1 Great- Granddaughter- Mindy Isaacson, 2 Brothers and 3 Sisters. Hazel worked for VA Illiana Medical Center as a Supervisor for 20 years until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westville and enjoyed gardening.
